Army-owned TV station opens studio in Jomtien Beach

Royal Thai Army-owned Channel 7 will open a studio at Jomtien Beach’s Furama Hotel to produce and broadcast local news.

Democrat Party spokesman Ong-arj Klampaiboon and Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome were on hand Monday as officials from the government news channel and hotel executives signed the contract for the Eastern News Center.

Channel 7 assistant station manager Saran Virutmawong and Furama International CEO Jason Peck said the center will be the first regional studio outfitted with advanced digital technology allowing it to become a leader in local news broadcasting.
