Bangkok Hospital Pattaya has a message it wants everyone to hear: Hearing problems need not go untreated.

The hospital’s ear, nose and throat specialists hosted an educational seminar May 9 to discuss ailments ranging from common allergies to chronic tinnitus and show off technology BHP uses to treat them.

Hospital Director Dr. Supakorn Winwan hosted the exhibition attended by doctors, nurses and patients alike. Topics included hearing, speaking, balance, voice and sound clarity, as well as hearing tests for children and infants, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

Ear, Nose & Throat Center director Dr. Suchitra Prasansuk reviewed the use of hearing aids and cochlear implants. The center provides both, as well as treatment for children, rehabilitation therapy and standard hearing tests.

Hearing problems need not be so serious, however. Doctors reviewed other causes of hearing and nasal passage impediments, which can be caused by allergies, sore throats and snoring.
