The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, July 5. Everyone is warmly welcome. The PCEC will hold their Annual General Meeting, which will be followed by a presentation by member Richard Silverberg about a popular Expat website here in Thailand. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Pattaya Soul Club presents another Souled Out evening, playing the very best of Northern, Motown and Soul music on Saturday, July 11 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Access on Pattaya Third Road. Free flow of wine & San Miguel until stocks last. Doors open at 8 p.m., 400 baht entry fee and all proceeds will be donated to the Hand to Hand Foundation. The Pattaya International Ladies Club will be hosting an evening of music with the Salaya Chamber Orchestra at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Ballroom of the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort in north Pattaya. Enjoy classic compositions from Bach, Haydn, Elgar and Nielsen. Tickets cost 600 baht per person and can be reserved by email to: [email protected]. A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard Networking Evening will be held at the Drum Room, Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya on Friday, July 17 from 6.00 – 9.00 p.m. (last drinks served at 8.30 p.m.). The 2015 King’s Cup Pattaya City Marathon will take place on the morning of Sunday, July 19, with the runners setting off from a start point outside the Central Festival Pattaya Beach shopping mall. The event will incorporate a full marathon of 42.195km, a half marathon (21.1km), quarter marathon (10.55km), a wheelchair quarter marathon (10.55km) and a micro marathon (fun run) of 3km. The Bangkok Wine Expo 2015 will be held on Friday July 10 at the Dusit Thani Hotel Bangkok, Dusit Hall from 6.30 p.m. onwards. Throughout the month of July, Mantra Restaurant & Bar presents the delectable dishes of Chef Piyanan Thuengwong, chef de partie for Mantra’s cold kitchen since 2013. Theatrical troupe Pattaya Players summer production will be held over the weekend 24-25 July at the Eastern Grand Palace Hotel on Soi Khao Talo. “Comedy Showcase” will bring six entertaining one-act scenes to the stage. The North Star Library on Sukhumvit Road, north Pattaya holds regular Thai language classes Mon – Fri from 10.30 till 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. Cost of admission is 100 baht per session for library members and 200 baht for non-members. The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
