The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, July 23. Patrick Mattimore will return to follow up on his previous presentation about Media Distortions along with several related topics. The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the 4th floor of the Holiday Inn’s Executive Tower, located behind the Holiday Inn’s Bay Tower on Beach Road.

A Joint Chambers Eastern Seaboard networking evening will be held at the AVANI Pattaya Resort & Spa on Friday, July 21 from 6.30 p.m. – 9 p.m. (last drinks at 8.30 p.m.) Event sponsors Air Asia will be there to introduce their new flight schedules out of Pattaya (UTP) and will be available for questions during the evening. Thai-Farang initiative (TFi) presents ‘Motorbike Mayhem’ at Murphy’s Irish Pub on Soi Khao Noi. A charity raffle will be held with a Honda Click 125i as first prize, 1 Baht of gold as the second prize, and a 1 night stay for 2 at the Rembrandt Hotel in Bangkok with breakfast and brunch as third prize. The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be holding a newcomers coffee morning at Casa Pascal Restaurant, 2nd Road Pattaya, opposite the Avani Hotel (formerly Marriott Hotel) at 11 a.m. on July 31. Lodge Pattaya West Winds (LPWW) will hold its Summer Party on Saturday, August 5 at the Siam Bayshore Resort Pattaya. This is the Lodge’s major fund raiding activity for the year and as well as a full international and Thai buffet, there will be free flow beer, red & white wine, soft drinks, a live band, a raffle and an auction carried out by renowned auctioneer John Collingbourne. Yamato Restaurant located on Soi Yamato has been around for more than 35 years and the soi was named after its oldest tenant. Just look for the Japanese characters on the blinds outside. The North Star Library on Sukhumvit Road, north Pattaya holds regular Thai language classes Mon – Fri from 10.30 till 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. Cost of admission is 100 baht per session for library members and 200 baht for non-members.
