The U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet Band was greeted with a tidal wave of appreciative applause when it played for children and supporters of the Human Help Network Thailand.
HHN Director Radchada Chomjinda and U.S. Navy League of Pattaya executive Peter Thorand introduced the Orient Express to kids of the Child Protection and Development Center, Drop-In Center and ASEAN Education Center at the CPDC’s auditorium June 3.
The eight-piece ensemble immediately kicked off a set of music dating from the 60s to today, such as “Cheerleader”, “Dancing in the Moonlight”, “Thinking Out Loud” and more.
The band, formed in 1943, is one of 11 U.S. Navy bands. Based in Japan with the 7th Fleet flagship, the USS Blue Ridge, the band pays for ships, military bases, foreign dignitaries, and community relations events throughout the western Pacific.
