Pattaya officials honored the city’s senior citizens with a traditional Songkran water-blessing ceremony.

Younger officials and children poured scented water on the palms of the seniors, who blessed them in return as part of the traditional Thai New Year ceremony.

Officials said the event is organized annually to carry on Songkran traditions and celebrate the elderly. It also teaches children to pay respect to their elders.
