Yingluck expecting OTOP producers to earn 100 billion baht within 2015

BANGKOK, 12 June 2013 Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has expressed her gratitude to OTOP producers, who she said play a vital role in promoting economic growth. 

Ms. Yingluck said in order to help OTOP producers to compete in the global market effectively, the government has sought cooperation from 6 financial institutions and 4 other Ministries, which include the Ministries of Industry, Commerce, and Agriculture and Cooperatives, as well as the Interior.

According to the Prime Minister, a joint effort of these organizations will provide access to financial aids for both SME and OTOP businessmen. Ms. Yingluck said she believed this would increase their competitive edge, opportunities, and knowledge which are essential for business expansion.

Ms. Yingluck also added later that since OTOP producers are important to the Thai economy, she will support and encourage them to generate as much as 100 billion baht in revenue within 2015.
