BANGKOK, 4 July 2012  – Petrol station operators Shell, Caltex and Esso have announced a fuel price hike for all grades of retail petrol and diesel by 50 satang per liter, effective from July 4 onwards.

Global oil prices reportedly surge following international sanctions on Iranian oil, causing New York’s light sweet crude for August to soar $3.91 to settle at $87.66 a barrel yesterday.

The new Gasohol 91 price at Shell, Caltex and Esso stations in Bangkok and its vicinities will be 34.48 baht per liter while Gasohol 95 will be sold at 36.23 baht per liter.

Benzene 91’s price is adjusted to 40.55 baht per liter while the price for diesel will jump to 30.33 baht per liter.

It is the second time this week that pump prices in the country have seen an increase after an oil price adjustment was announced on July 2.
