BANGKOK, 1 August 2013 The Siam Cement Public Company Limited, or SCG, has revised this year’s targeted revenue to 437-billion-baht revenue, while planning to invest around 40-50 billion baht.

SCG President Kan Trakulhun disclosed that the SCG had a net profit of 9.9 billion baht in the second quarter of this year, which accounted for a 132 percent year-on-year increase, pushing its half-year net profit to 18.7 billion baht, an increase of 83 percent from the previous year’s, thanks to the increasing demand in cement.

The company has so far this year spent 17.7 billion baht, from its 2013 annual budget of 40-50 billion baht, in investment. The SCG will be able to continue expanding its core business into the ASEAN region as it has ample cash flow.

The SCG has also revised its 2013’s projected revenue to 437 billion baht, a rise of 7.2 percent over the 435 billion predicted earlier, said the president.
