Private sector asks for 1.4 billion baht to develop lower North

BANGKOK, 9 June 2013 The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking, and the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT) will request a budget of 1.4 billion baht from the region’s public-private meeting for solutions to economic problems to develop lower Northern provinces 

According to Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries Phayongsak Chartsuthipol, the 1.4-billion-baht budget will be be spent on four projects in four lower Northern province: Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, and Uthai Thani. The projects seek to develop trade, investment, transportation, logistics, water management, tourism, and health services in the region.

The public-private meeting for solutions to economic problems of the lower North took place during this week’s mobile Cabinet meeting from 9-10 June 2013.
