Prices of most commodities remain stable

BANGKOK, 15 May 2015 –  The Ministry of Commerce revealed that the price of most perishable items remained stable, while only chive and coriander have increased slightly.

The ministry’s Department of Internal Trade (DIT) reported that vendors in the capital are selling chive at 110 – 120 baht/kg, and coriander at 90 – 100 baht/kg.

The DIT also revealed that other items remained relatively stable, such as pork and whole chicken, which were sold at 122-130 baht/kg and 65 – 70 baht/kg, respectively. Number 2 and 3 eggs were sold at 3 and 2.9 baht apiece, respectively.

The commodities report stated that popular vegetables also followed this trend of stability, citing kale sold at 22-25 baht/kg, Chinese cabbage at 18-20 baht/kg, morning glory at 20 – 22 baht/kg, and cowpeas from 45-48 baht/kg.

Finally, cucumbers held at 30 – 32 baht/kg, cabbage at 15 – 18 baht/kg and bird’s eye chilli at 50 – 60 baht/kg.
