Pattaya administrators joined celebrities and about 2,500 joggers for a “happy run” around Pratamnak Hill.

Mayor Anan Charoenchasri kicked off the Jan. 27 charity fundraiser sponsored by the Provincial Electricity Authority featuring celebrities Pinky Sawika, Yo Yosawadee, Jet Jetpipat, Te Dawin and Tee Thanapol.

Runners followed at 5.6-kilometer run from Bali Hai Pier to the South Pattaya Lighthouse, up to the Naval Radio Station Public Park and back down Pratamnak Hill past the Tourist Police Division station, over the Bali Hai flyover and back to the jetty.

Along the way, runners stopped at four different points for exhibits on PEA’s activities. Participants also got free food and beverages at the end of the event.

The top three finishers took home trophies while the first 500 got gift bags and the first 1,000 earned a wristband.

Registration was 200 baht per head, and combined with private donations generated 599,000 baht in revenue that, after expenses, will be donated to charity.
