Officials from the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board (ONESDB) told local officials and tourism entrepreneurs to make sure they grasp and use Thailand 4.0 standards as a guideline for future development.

They also stressed Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education for their employees.

A couple dozen participants from local businesses and government officials took part in the May 29-31 meeting held at the Bay View Hotel.

ONESDB representative Ittipong Hiranruengchoke said the board was particularly interested in tourism and logistics in Chonburi in general, and Pattaya in particular. He said the board plans to take unspecified surveys in the area, the results of which will be used to make plans for tourism development.

“With proper qualifications, employees should be able to take advantage of the new era of technology and develop communication skills so that Thai employees can grow into the future and help Thailand meet 4.0 standards,” Ittipong said.
