BANGKOK, Aug 11 — Another 34 Thai workers are due to leave Libya today as the situation there is uncertain.

Thai workers have gradually evacuated.

The rescue centre in Tunis is helping to evacuate Thai workers from Libya.

Twenty-five Thais arrived around noon today while 34 others are due to leave for Bangkok later today.

Suwat Kaewsook, centre director, said he talked with Norreddin Ayed, honorary Malaysian consul in Tunisia, who helped coordinate the evacuation of Thai workers from Libya to Tunisia with the Tunisian government.

Mr Suwat directs the Department of Consular Affairs’ Protection of Thai Nationals Abroad Division.

The situation in Libya is highly uncertain.

This week, more Thais will be evacuated. Those wanting to stay voluntarily will be counseled to better understand the situation, Mr Suwat said.
