According to Kasikorn Research Center, moon cake outlets are likely to enjoy a 10-15 percent rise in sales as the Chinese delicacies have been on the market a month before the Moon Festival starts.
The Center explained that political stability has heightened people’s spirits, putting them in a mood for shopping. Although moon cakes are mainly viewed as indispensable presents for Chinese private companies and for Thai-Chinese people, this bakery product is gaining popularity among Thai consumers due to the improvement in the stuffing’s tastes.
However, a hike in living expenses, a 5-10 percent increase in the production cost could lead to a sale drop in some groups of customers.
