Money Expo hits Pattaya this weekend

No-interest loans, high-interest savings accounts, tourist credit cards and stock tips will be on offer as 32 public and private financial-services companies set up shop at the Peach Convention Center for Money Expo 2014 this weekend Feb. 6 – 8.

Organizer Santi Wiriyarangsan, president and editor-in-chief of the Money and Banking Journal, said the fifth-annual show at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group convention center is this year themed “Beautiful ASEAN” to welcome the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community late this year.

Exhibitors include public and private banks, financial institutes, securities companies, asset-management firms, life, casualty, and health insurers; gold and gold futures companies, and car rental companies.

Attending public agencies include the Bank of Thailand, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Revenue Department, and the Public Debt Management Office.

At the event, visitors can gain the access to financial, management, investment and information resources with the one-stop service counters providing services on home loans, car loans, personal loans, education loans, SME business loan, debit and credit cards, all type of deposit accounts, and insurance that comes with special offers, such as low interest rates, fee waivers, free gifts, premiums, and lucky draws.

On the investment side, the Stock Exchange of Thailand joined forces with securities, asset-management, gold, and gold-futures companies to market investment services with a wide array of choices ranging from stocks, derivatives, mutual funds, and gold. Financial experts are also available for consultation and advice.

“The 4th Money Expo Pattaya 2014 got a lot of attention from people in Pattaya, Chonburi, and other provinces in the eastern region,” Santi said. “The event received the highest number of financial activities in four years, totaling more than 17 billion baht from 17,224 people out off more than 30,000 total visitors to the event.”

Santi added that the event will host a seminar on investment called “Get rich quick at rocket speed with superb stocks in the Year of the Goat” on Feb. 7.

Lecturers are qualified investment experts including Kantara Ladawan na Ayutthaya, the executive director of Finansia Syrus Securities; Kawee Chukitkasem, deputy managing director of Kasikorn Securities; Prakit Siriwattanaket, strategist and technical analyst at Asia Plus Securities Plc; and Prakasit Titaram, a value investor from Stock2morrow.

There will be mini concerts from famous artists such as Too Pooetorn, Wan Thanakrit, Ten Nararak, and Dome Jaruwat Cheawaram from The Star 8 television series.
