Japanese entrepreneurs reaffirm Thailand as investment hub

BANGKOK, 5 September 2014 –Japanese entrepreneurs, today met the foreign affairs permanent-secretary Sihasak Phuangketkeow, and have affirmed that Thailand remains their trade and investment hub in the ASEAN community, though there are many attractive countries in which to invest.

The representatives of 24 leading Japanese companies led by the Managing Director of KEIDANREN (Japan Business Federation) Satoshi Mukuta and the Secretary General of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Kalin Sarasin are convinced that the Thai economy and politics have regained stability.

Mr. Sihasak said that Thailand is putting effort into creating factors that support trade and investment in the Kingdom, for example, taxation reform, improving SME competitiveness, and ensuring transparency in the customs system.
