BANGKOK, 28 August 2014 – The extraordinary committee overseeing the fiscal 2015 budget has so far completed its review of the budget proposals from 16 ministries, making 4.08 billion baht of reductions in total so far.
On Wednesday, the committee discussed the yearly budgets with representatives from the Ministry of Education and the Thai Red Cross Society. The Ministry of Education had asked for 520 billion baht of budget for year 2015, of which the committee shaved off by 396 million baht. The Thai Red Cross’s budget request of 5.9 billion baht was not subjected to reductions.
The extraordinary committee will consider the budget proposals from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior today (Thursday).
