Permanent Secretary to the Commerce Ministry Yanyong Phuangrach said that the realization of AEC in 2015 is a prime opportunity for Thai businessme and those related in economic and trade affairs to take their potential to another level before trade competition will be more intensified.
Mr. Yanyong stated that the arrival of the AEC also means freer mobilization of trade, investment, skilled labor and capital.
Therefore, with the likelihood of fierce competition, the Commerce Ministry’s Permanent Secretary is urging the local business sector to be better prepared.
And in helping them with the preparation, the Foreign Trade Department will organize an event, which is titled “AEC – ASEAN to change the world”, at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok, during July 26th and 28th.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Trade Department Director-General Manat Soiploy said that the upcoming event will be full of various interesting activities for business operators, such as the talks on such topics as Thai trade and AEC, the adjustment of the private sector towards AEC and the AEC Pavilion, which will see the presentation of booths from 9 other ASEAN member countries.
