CHIANG MAI, 21 August 2014  – Chiang Mai province is cooperating with representatives of both the government and private sectors to prepare Thai entrepreneurs to seek investments and trading opportunities in neighboring countries. Laos is the first such country to receive the attention of the newly trained business representatives from northern Thailand.

The Director of the Northern Regional Office of International Trade Promotion Kwannapa Pewnil said that the government sector, private sector and educational institutes have come up with a project to ensure entrepreneurs in the upper north of Thailand are well informed about trading and investment in Laos. The project aims to equip entrepreneurs with an in-depth analysis of ASEAN economics and new international economic structures.

The businesses in Laos believed to be attractive to Thai entrepreneurs include food and beverage, agricultural products and processed products, health and beauty and lifestyle products.
