BANGKOK, 16 April 2013 – Finance Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong has said that the 340 billion baht loan for the development of the water management project is now underway, and that a feasibility study will be conducted to reassure the worthiness of the 2 trillion baht infrastructure investment.

According to the Finance Minister, the 340 billion baht loan for the water management project will have been completed by the end of June before it will be allocated. Following concerns over the benefits derived by the country from the government’s infrastructure investment, Mr. Kittiratt said the study will be conducted after the 2 trillion loan bill is approved.

He said further that 3 organizations: the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board, the Bureau of Budget, and the Ministry of Finance, will be deliberating on the feasibility of the investment projects. He also reassured that Thailand’s public debt will definitely not rise beyond 50%.
