Our Securitas Retro Escort Mk1 has some new slick tyres for this meeting, imported for us by Henk Kiks and the B-Quik professionals. Up till now we have been running on road radials, so we hope that the new racing rubber will help us at Kaeng Krachan which has more corners than the Bira circuit.
We also have a new sponsor on board in Hemaraj Land and Development (the largest industrial park developers, such as the flood-free Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate) and we hope to return some excellent results for them.
Of course reliability is very important for away meetings, as it is not possible to duck back to the Pattaya workshops on the Saturday night, for example. It is also not possible to carry all the tools and spares to Kaeng Krachan, so we only take obvious items such as spark plugs, lubricants and an alternator (which seem to self-destruct regularly).
We are currently leading the class, so it is important that we do well and try to maintain our lead, and I can assure you, we will be trying!
