The North Star Library sponsored a second-hand book sale to raise money for the Father Ray Foundation.

The Sukhumvit Road Redemptorist Center library offered more than 1,000 volumes in Thai, English and other languages that had been collected over the years in various charity drives.  Proceeds from the March 5 used book sale will go toward buying new books aimed at helping children under the care of the Father Ray charities.

Head librarian Wadjai Noochan explained that children in the various Redemptorist schools and Father Ray homes lack a sufficient number of textbooks and other learning materials.  But clearing off the shelves of pulp fiction and other titles obtained from charity drives in Chonburi, Trat, Nong Khai and other places, North Star hopes to restock the shelves with useful titles.
