The Pattaya Mail was introduced to the market place in 1993 to provide a weekly local English Newspaper which covers the news that effects the Eastern Seaboard residents as well as tourists, covering travel- sightseeing itineraries, politics, business and social happenings which can not be found in the Bangkok English broadsheet newspapers. Pattaya Mail (www.pattayamail.com) established it’s presence on the internet in July 1997 and was later featured "Website of the Week" in the Database section of the Bangkok Post. Improvements have been made since then. By January ’99 www.pattayamail.com recorded over 200,000 hits, and the number of weekly visitors is rapidly growing. Pattaya Mail’s extensive web-content includes back-issues from the beginning to the most recent issue, counting over 70 issues on-line and a Pattaya business directory.
