Long Live His Majesty the King

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, accompanied by HRH Princess Sirindhorn (center), lights candles during the traditional Loy Krathong festival at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010. Pattaya Mail, Pattaya Mail Television, Pattaya Blatt and Chiang Mai Mail would like to join the Kingdom of Thailand in humbly extending our loyal greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the King in celebration of December 5, the auspicious occasion of the 83rd Anniversary of His birth. Long Live His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the longest reigning monarch in the world today, and Happy Fathers Day to all. Inside this issue is a very special color supplement paying tribute to this most beloved Monarch. (Photo courtesy Bureau of the Royal Household).  Continued

His Majesty the King’s birthday is Sunday, Dec. 5, and since the occasion falls on a Sunday this year, Monday Dec 6 has been designated as the national public holiday. As such all government offices, banks and many businesses will be closed, although many bank branches in shopping malls may be open to cater to foreign exchange. Shopping centers and most exchange booths throughout the city will be open. Places of entertainment are usually open without restriction.
