Checkpoints set up
at secondary roads and
villages during Songkran
Chonburi Province has embarked upon a
campaign to reduce road accidents during the Songkran festival, tightly
controlling all the primary and secondary roads with the intention of getting
the number of fatalities down to no more than 10.
A briefing was held on April 2 at Chonburi Town Hall by Deputy Governor Komsan
Aekachai, at which a two-pronged approach was announced.
The period until April 10 was for preparations and practice, including
monitoring the primary and secondary roads and the local roads for traffic flow,
advising residents, and training personnel. During the period April 11 to 17,
speed limits will be enforced and checkpoints will be mounted in the communities
and the villages.
Asian University’s summer campers help to clean Jomtien Beach
In March, Asian University opened the first of their two English
Summer camps for 2008 with one hundred and forty students. The
youngsters were eagerly awaiting the English programme and the many
additional educational, social, sporting and fun activities.
Many of the summer campers have expressed an interest in continuing
their study, following the camps, either in the College M4, 5 and 6 or
in one of the undergraduate degree programmes offered by Asian
University.
