Koh Larn’s windmill system regarded as a model for
alternative energy production
Koh Larn’s 95-million baht windmill-driven power generating system is being
keenly monitored to see if this form of alternative energy source can be used
elsewhere.
With concern growing over global warming and with Thailand’s energy bills
soaring because of the rise in oil prices, many provinces throughout the country
are looking at alternative energy systems that would provide at least part of
their requirements.
His Majesty the King, in a recent speech, has urged local communities to
investigate the possibility of other sources of energy, and the Koh Larn
installation is regarded as a model of what can be done.

How many times have you gone to a restaurant, tried the house wine,

bloc country out of old umbrella handles? Too many times. Very few
restaurants look at performance versus price (a line stolen from Louis Noll

Regent’s Round Square delegates organise
assembly and barazza discussion groups
Every year The Regent’s School sends a student delegation to the
International Round Square Conference which is held in different places
around the world. Every year, after the conference the student delegation
shares with the rest of the school their experience and what they have
learnt. This year the six delegates shared their experiences and ideas from
India.

Thailand’s Pongsiri wins Pattaya Tennis Open 2008
A Thai tennis player won the Pattaya Tennis Open 2008, when
Pongsiri Nirot beat his French opponent in straight sets (6:0, 6:3) in
the final held at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort on January 22.
