Twelve finalists in the Miss Czech 2008 beauty contest have
been brightening the scene around Pattaya this past week (they leave today,
January 18) as part of a promotional campaign.

Boat operators feel the squeeze as
gasoline costs rise
Boat and ferry
operators are complaining that despite the escalating costs of fuel they are
unable to increase their charges, and are consequently having to bear the
increase in overheads themselves.
Many are unable to do so, and with other increases such as salaries and
maintenance they have been forced out of business.
On January 8, retail oil prices were adjusted upwards again. ULG 95 RON is now
33.69 baht per liter, UGR 91 RON is 32.39 baht per liter, Gasohol 95 - E10 is
29.69 baht per liter, and HSD, 0.05%S is 29.74 per liter.

Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, the events being organized for the
youngsters instead focusing on their educational content.

Lions feed students
Members of the Lions Club of Chonburi Pratamnak Pattaya District
310 C served lunch to students at Wat Kaopotong School on December 27,
as a New Year treat.
Leading the Lions were Komkrit Prasitnarits and Somsakdi Naksonti, and
school director Prakorb Chomjan welcomed them and their team.

Royal Selangor defeats Indonesia in final of Thai Polo Open 2008
The Mercedes-Benz - Credit Swisse Thai Polo Open was an 8-10 goal
handicap tournament held at the Thai Polo Club in Pattaya from 5-12
January 2008, and competing for the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
Cup.
