Mayor orders klong dug out and land encroachers removed

City cleaning up smelly South Pattaya klong

South Pattaya klong is being given a facelift and the area cleaned up to facilitate water flow, following a city hall decision to remove the stagnant water and lessen the risk of mosquito breeding.

On Monday afternoon, Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn inspected the start of work beside the grounds of the Siam Bayshore Hotel, telling reporters that he also intends to remove all illegal buildings from both sides of the waterway.

Bruno’s celebrates Swiss National Day with culinary journey through 5 cantons

Fredi Schaub, owner of Bruno’s, threw a special Swiss evening to commemorate Swiss National Day. Guests of honor were Swiss Ambassador Hans-Peter Erismann and his wife Freda. Observing that this was the 714th Swiss National Day, His Excellency in his pre-dinner speech reminded those present that there is a special relationship between his country and Thailand, His Majesty the King having lived and attended school in Switzerland as a child.

A large field plays “Misty’s” for the Care for Kids

It was clear from the size of Friday’s field, 131 players strong, that Misty’s Annual Charity Open has now etched its name onto the list of premier Pattaya tournaments. The innovations made by owner Andy James each year make the event a continuum of interest, and coupled with his choice of a superb venue, Burapha, its popularity can only grow.
