Sixty orphans and their caretaker from Banglamung Boys Home, Pattaya, were invited to meet Star War’s arch-villain, the one-and-only Darth Vader. The fun-filled trip, provided by Burger King (Thailand), is part of the worldwide marketing campaign sponsored by Burger King, the only fast food chain authorized to promote Star War Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In the picture, Lord Vader poses with the Banglamung Boys Home residents while they enjoy their burgers and fries at the Burger King Royal Garden Plaza branch. ‘May the force be with you’.


Getting closer to the end of his tenure in Thailand, H.E. Dr. Herbert Traxl the ambassador of Austria came to Pattaya to play a round (or two) of golf and meet up with old friends to bid them adieu. Peter Malhotra (right) (Pattaya Mail) and Elfi Seitz (left) (Pattaya Blatt) hosted dinner for Dr. Traxl (centre) at Casa Pascal restaurant. After a splendid dinner, His Excellency thanked Pascal (2nd left) and Kim Schnyder (2nd right) for their kind hospitality and complimented them on their professionalism.

Witsanu Kruengam, deputy prime minister was the guest speaker at a seminar at the Tide Resort Bangsaen Beach, organized by TAT which was attended by many officials from the tourism board both in Thailand as well as in foreign countries. Tourism operation rules and regulations were amongst the issues discussed.


Suree Pachana (front right), director of rooms at Dusit Resort Pattaya Hotel presented a bouquet of flowers and a cake to congratulate Albert and Susan Barnett for their 55th wedding anniversary. A BBQ buffet dinner party was held for friends at The Bay Restaurant of the hotel.


The Royal Cliff Beach Resort hosted a ‘Wine Tasting Dinner’ in honour of the Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, HE Bill Paterson (right) during his recent visit to the resort. Several officials of the Australian Embassy in Thailand, and local Thai officials including Pol. Lt. Gen. Prung Boonpadung(left) were present as well. A selection of Australian wines from Royal Cliff Beach Resort’s award-winning wine list complemented the gourmet menu prepared by the resort’s executive chef Walter Thenisch.
