Minister Thaksin Shinawatra stopped in Pattaya last Thursday during a tour of
the Eastern Seaboard. Whilst here, he met with local leaders to discuss projects
and challenges indigenous to the area.

Local authorities confident there’s enough water to last the summer
Pattaya and its surrounding districts are bracing themselves
for disruptions in water supplies as demand increases with the approach of the
summer season and “technical difficulties” in pumping water to households.
But the good news is that there should be sufficient water
available until the next rainy season.
“The recent lack of water in Jomtien, Huay Yai, Chaiypruek,
Thepprasit and Khao Noi was due to a number of technical difficulties, including
broken water mains and a lack of electricity to pump the water through the
pipes,” according to Thani Tongprachum, Pattaya Water Office manager.

Grand Sole holds annual thank-you party
The Grand Sole Hotel in Pattaya threw a bash on April 2
to let staff members know how much they are appreciated. Santsak
Ngamphiches, advisor to the tourism and sport minister and chairman of the
Grand Sole Hotel, presided over the opening ceremony. Over 100 guests of
honor and hotel employees attended the happy gathering, which took place
outside in the hotel’s car park.

to the delight of the special guests of honor and a huge audience, for the
Central Pattana Co. Ltd.’s Pattaya Swimwear Show 2004 at Central Court,
Big C Supercenter in North Pattaya. The show, themed Summer Colorful
Blossom, was a stunner.

Nong Ploy wins 4th Pattaya
Orphanage Cup
Nong Ploy defeated the Redemptorist Team 6-3 on penalty
kicks in the final of the 4th annual Pattaya Orphanage Cup held at the
orphanage football field April 3-4. Nong Ploy’s championship effort earned
them the General Ekammarit Charayapan, Defense Ministry deputy
under-secretary trophy.
