Children’s Day outing turns to

 tragedy

100 injured in bus accident

A day’s outing planned as a special treat for a large group of kids to celebrate National Children’s Day turned to tragedy when 100 people were injured in a multiple bus crash near the Kratinglai - Rayong intersection on Saturday afternoon, January 10. Amongst the injured were pre-school and elementary students, some as young as 3, with parents and teachers.

Police, Sawang Boriboon foundation rescue units, doctors and nurses from Banglamung Hospital attended the scene to aid the injured and take them to hospital for treatment.

Sophon Cable TV gives away prizes to its loyal members

Chanyuth Hengtrakul, managing director of Sophon Cable TV Pattaya, chaired the annual prize drawing benefiting his long-time customers in Pattaya and nearby areas. Guests of honor on the day included Mai Chaiyanit, chairman of Nongprue administration organization, Sataporn Chua-arn, president of Pattaya Video and Cable TV club, and more than 50 Sophon Cable TV members. Chanyuth said Sophon Cable TV holds the annual prize drawing to show appreciation by giving away valued goods to its members.

Thousands of smiles all around as Pattaya holds numerous activities for National Children’s Day

The second Saturday in January in Thailand has long been associated with the nation’s future in as much as it has been declared National Children’s Day. This year on January 10, children around the country joined in many activities as part of the annual festival.

In Pattaya, there were smiles all around as thousands of children from all corners of the community attended a multitude of fun and games organized for their benefit.
