Sophon Cable TV gives away prizes to its loyal members

Chanyuth Hengtrakul, managing director of Sophon Cable TV Pattaya, chaired the annual prize drawing benefiting his long-time customers in Pattaya and nearby areas. Guests of honor on the day included Mai Chaiyanit, chairman of Nongprue administration organization, Sataporn Chua-arn, president of Pattaya Video and Cable TV club, and more than 50 Sophon Cable TV members. Chanyuth said Sophon Cable TV holds the annual prize drawing to show appreciation by giving away valued goods to its members.

This year the prize total value amounted to more than 400,000 baht. Chanyuth said this year’s event was the biggest one ever. Grand prizes included 2 motorcycles, sound system sets, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, and Pattaya Park entrance tickets.

Lucky winners can check their names right after the evening news on Sophon Cable TV or visit the Sophon Cable TV building on Pattaya Central Road. If the prizes are not claimed within 30 days they will be added to next year’s drawing. The Honda Wave motorcycle went to Boonua Chareonsuk, and the Suzuki Smash motorcycle went to Edward Robson.


Happy Birthday Jimbo!

Jimmy Howard, the affable chairman of the Pattaya Panther Rugby Club celebrated his 60th birthday in a true sportsman like style last Saturday. Not only did Jimmy gather enough strength to play a rugby match, Pattaya Panthers versus Jimmy’s 60s team at Horseshoe Point, but proved his staying power through the evening with a huge party at the Panther’s home venue Shenanigans Pattaya.

Jimmy Howard, the affable chairman of the Pattaya Panther Rugby Club celebrated his 60th birthday in a true sportsman like style last Saturday.

Many of the players reported the next day feeling sore in places they didn’t know existed or had forgotten they had. A heavy head from the previous night’s celebrations only added to their pain.

Shenanigans turned on the hospitality for local rugby buffs with Shenanigans landlord Kim Fletcher providing a huge cake in honor of Jimbo’s birthday. Jimmy could be seen enjoying the afterglow from the afternoon’s match, complete with signature pink panther outfit.

Arusaya Manothavorn weds Dr. Ruangwit Thama-aree in grand style

Arusaya, daughter of Somchai Manothavorn, president of the Gold Shops Association of Pattaya and Nittaya Patimasongkroh, president of the YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya Center, wed her sweetheart Dr. Ruangwit Thamaree last week and celebrated the happy occasion at an elaborate party amongst family and hundreds of friends and guests at the Long Beach Hotel.

The bride and groom (center) celebrate this magic moment flanked by their parents.

Somchai Khunpluem, mayor of Saensuk Municipality, presided over the celebrations and wished the young couple many years of marital bliss. Amongst the honored guests were Yuwarat Kamolvej, former chairman of the election commission, Mayor Pairat Sutithamrongsawat, Santsak Ngampiches Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Anant Angkanisan former director general of the Attorney General Office, Region 2, Surapol Thainsuwan, Banglamung district chief and many others including members of the various clubs and organizations in Pattaya.

The happy couple spoke about their courtship saying that they had met 3 years ago at a fitness center, got to know each other and fell in love. They now decided to tie the knot.

The bride Arusaya is a graduate in Business Administration from the ABAC University and did her Masters Degree in St. Louis in the United States. She worked at the Foreign Ministry for a while before deciding to open a business of her own called the World of Languages and Computers in Pattaya. The groom Ruangwit is a medical practitioner at Bangkok Hospital.


Steak Bao celebrates 4 years

One of Pattaya’s most unique Thai restaurants, Steak Bao celebrated its 4th anniversary at their Beach Road premises recently.

Pattaya Mail was there to wish the co-owner Woraporn all the best for the restaurant’s fifth year ahead.

As part of the celebrations, a special appearance by Carabao headlined the evening’s entertainment. The party also featured the restaurant’s leading menu items while friends, family and restaurant associates enjoyed the cool sea breeze in the warm and friendly atmosphere for which the restaurant has become known.

Apart from the entertainment, guests were treated to plenty of fun and games throughout the night with numerous prizes being given away.
