Nittaya Patimasongkroh, president of the YWCA Bangkok Pattaya branch recently led YWCA members on their latest round of donations to local schools under the Daily Lunch Project. Both the YWCA and the Pattaya Sports Club supported the day’s activities. The ladies supplied a nutritious lunch and donated necessary food items to the children of Pattaya School No. 4 located in Wat Nongyai.

Chai Yo! A big thank you from the kids to the YWCA and PSC.

Wat Nongyai School was opened in 1937 and later transferred to local government care as one of the city’s 10 schools.

Items handed over to the school included 4 electric fans, 12 dozen drinking glasses, and 10 bags of rice. A variety of small gifts were also distributed amongst the children to make the visit more fun.

Then the group of intrepid ladies moved on to the Ban Euatai, located in Sriracha to give out another 4 wall fans and 50 bags of rice. The donation was well received by Araya Nuengjamnong, director of the Euatai Foundation for the children. YWCA members provided lunch for the youngsters and handed over 10,000 baht in cash which will help meet daily expenses at the facility.

Ban Eauatai was founded in 2001 by Suwanna Supachartkraisorn, president of the foundation, and is located in the Bang Phra district. The facility currently houses and rehabilitates 30 children previously associated with drug use.

Of the many charitable projects carried out by the Pattaya Sports Club (PSC), one of the most important is funding education for students from financially challenged families. These funds not only make a tremendous difference to the children who receive the scholarships but benefit society as a whole.

On behalf of the Pattaya Sports Club, Charity Chairman Bernie Tuppin delivered 45,000 baht to the director of School Number 7 in Nongphangkae, allowing 27 children to attend school for another year.

The latest achievement took place on Thursday afternoon when Bernie Tuppin, the intrepid charity chairman for the PSC, handed over 45,000 baht to the director of School Number 7 in Nongphangkae, allowing 27 children to attend school for another year.

This particular project has been in place for 3 years and the children are extremely grateful for the efforts of the PSC as they would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend the government school.

Tiparat Chinsuwanakij, one of the recipients of a scholarship said, “I am now in my third year of high school and have received a scholarship, along with my friends, since my first year. I can say on behalf of those of us who have been given this opportunity by the Pattaya Sports Club that we are eternally grateful for this kindness and generosity. All of us would not be able to receive schooling if it wasn’t for the PSC. Thank you and I hope you continue your good work for the community.”

The PSC has many projects running simultaneously, which include donating vital supplies and necessary equipment such as sporting equipment, food and other important daily items for the underprivileged in both local and rural areas. These generous donations improve the lives of those who would otherwise be left out in the cold by society.

The PSC frequently coordinates with other Pattaya charitable organizations such the YWCA, Rotary, Lions and associations that assist children in the community.
