Fair Fantastic!

What a fantastic day it was on Sunday September 14 when the Jesters Care for Kids Charity Fair was held at Diana Resort and Driving Range. There were more children than ever before, more families than ever before, guaranteeing more ‘Caring for Kids’ at the Children’s Fair than ever before. Even the weather cooperated. As can be seen above, the Fountain of Life children were dancing with joy. (Full report and lots more pics on center pages this week.)

City meets with Bali Hai committee to resolve ongoing problems

Contemplates putting facility management out to tender

Pattaya’s boat operators moved from their locations at the decrepit South Pattaya pier to the new Bali Hai location earlier this month. Bali Hai is now home to the city’s boats for hire, tourist boat services and ferry companies. As use of the new facility has increased, so to have the problems associated with managing the area.

Pattaya Motorcycle Club enjoys inaugural ride

Inter-Asia cooperation and higher drinking water standards discussed

The Pattaya Motorcycle Club kick started into life last month, with meetings being held every Friday evening at the “Old Speckled Hen” pub on Jomtien Beach Road Soi 9. This is a non-discriminatory club with members from any nationality and riding any make of machine being welcome, the only proviso being your machine should be able to cruise comfortably at 80kmph, with overtaking, or “get out of an emergency situation quickly” speed of up to 100kmph.

German-Thai Chamber of Commerce holds networking night

“Thailand will most likely achieve its predicted 6 percent growth in the third quarter of 2003”

Members of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce took time out from their busy schedules to host an Eastern Seaboard ‘Stammtisch’ networking night last Friday evening. Their favorite venue, the Moon River Pub at the Thai Garden Resort, played host to chamber members and their guests for a relaxing evening in Pattaya.

Cuel Charity Classic 2003 raises 260,000 baht for charity

The now prestigious CUEL Charity Classic golf day organised by Clough-Unithai Engineering Ltd. (CUEL) was held at the beautifully prepared Laem Chabang International Country Club on Friday September 5. The tournament, supported by CUEL’s General Manager, John Sheridan and Construction Manager, Jock Watt, was organised by Steve Hovi and Graeme Moore. CUEL are leading fabricators of offshore structures for the oil and gas industry and employ over 600 people at their fabrication facility at Laem Chabang Port.
