Seven perish in massive Thaioil blaze
Investigators yet to determine cause

The death toll from the raging inferno at the Thaioil refinery in Laem Chabang last week has risen to seven, with eleven others injured, five still in the hospital.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the blaze. A report from the Scientific Crime Investigation Division isn’t expected to be complete for another 2 weeks.

The fire began late Thursday night, December 2nd, in tank #3003, which contained 1.5 million liters of fuel, and soon spread to three other tanks containing 26 million liters of fuel.
