His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn Celebrated His Birthday on July 28th

fs1.jpg (38546 bytes)His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit celebrated their second child’s birthday on July 28th. The Crown Prince was born on July 28, 1951, at 5:45 p.m. and given the name "Somdej Prachao Luug Ya Theu Chao Faa Wachiralongkorn Boromma Chakraya Disorn Santatiwongsa Tewejtamrong Suboriban Adikunuprakarn Manitaladunlayadej Bhumiphol Narekwaraangkoola Kitisirisomboon Sawakawat Borom Kattiyarajakuman Rajakuman."

As a young boy the Crown Prince was educated at the school in the Thai Palace along with other children from the Palace who were taught various subjects. The Crown Prince showed a special preference for drawing pictures of airplanes and tanks or modeling them out of clay. Soon he received Boy Scout training at the Boy Scout Camp in Sri Racha District of Chonburi Province.

During his teen years the Crown Prince was sent to England where he attended the King’s Mead School and Millfield School. After graduating from high school in England the Crown Prince prepared for Military School by attending the King’s School in Australia and later, in the year of 1974, he attended the Duntrun Military Academy in Canberra, Australia. Thereafter, the Crown Prince was given the additional title of "Somdej Phra Bromorasathirad Siam Makut Rachakuman."

fs4.jpg (30401 bytes)After graduating from the Academy in Canberra news of the event was broadcast all over the country as the Crown Prince was given the rank of Captain in all of the Royal Services. Afterwards the Crown Prince attended a one-year special training course at the Army Chief of Staff School and received promotion to Major from his father the King on October 13, 1978.

The Crown Prince has accumulated 2,000 flying hours in hi-performance aircraft such as the F-5E, and the F-5F. In May 1997, the Crown Prince was bestowed the rank of General or Admiral in all of the Royal Thai Military Services.

The Crown Prince shows a keen interest in matters of state and of the welfare of the people of Thailand. His endevours towards the betterment of the educational and living stands in Thailand are a source of great admiration by the Thai people and foreigners alike.
