Crown Prince opens new center of
yachting excellence at Sattahip HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn opened the new yachting facilities at Sattahip last Friday. HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, before a large crowd of assembled Royal Thai Navy personnel, members of the Eastern Seaboards international community, dignitaries from Bangkok, representatives of the Kingdoms leading yacht clubs and officials of the forthcoming 13th Asian games, opened the new yachting facilities at Sattahip last Friday. As the sun set over Dong Tan Bay, the Crown Prince inaugurated the splendid complex constructed on the shores of the Royal Thai Navy base, for the promotion of yacht racing, training, race management, and all the myriad related aspects of sailing. The following day, the facility had its first test run: the management of the "Royal Vega Rudder" trophy race, an annual event dedicated to the commemoration of H.M. the Kings famous Trans-Gulf crossing in 1966, from Klai Kangwol Palace at Hua Hin to Toey Harbor, Sattahip, in a small OK Dinghy which he had built.
