Pattaya welcomes in the Year of the Horse

The BMW-B.Grimm Thai Polo - Open 2014 was a fitting prelude to Friday’s Chinese New Year, Year of the Horse, when lions and dragons will dance from morning to night when Pattaya celebrates Chinese New Year on Jan. 31. Along with people throughout the area paying respects to their ancestors at temples and individual homes, many venues around town will hold celebrations. City sponsored events include lion and dragon parades, a Chinese Girls pageant in Naklua, cultural shows and concerts by Pao Paowaree and the Blueberry Girls. May good luck, good health and prosperity be with you throughout the Year of the Horse.

Burapha Bike Week returns to the National Indoor Sports Stadium in Jomtien Beach Feb. 14-15, a year after organizers and Pattaya officials moved the biker event to the less congested Silverlake Vineyard.

Hilton Worldwide adds new beneficiaries and hotels to Carbon Offset Program in Southeast Asia

Hilton Worldwide recently announced the expansion of their Carbon Offset Program in Southeast Asia with three new renewable energy projects receiving support for 2014. The Mungcharoen Biomass Project in Thailand, the Musi Hydro Project in Indonesia, and the Song Ong Small Hydro Project in Vietnam will join the Borneo Rainforest Rehabilitation Project in Malaysia as beneficiaries of the program.

St Andrews raises charity funds during “One Day, One Goal”

Saturday 18th January saw the 4th annual “One Day, One Goal” Charity football event take place at St. Andrews International School, Green Valley. The day was split into 2 parts with the morning consisting of a football competition between 4 local international schools and the afternoon seeing children from local charities coming in to receive some free gifts and football coaching from our very own United Football coaches.
