Buffalo races come to Lake Mabprachan

Beasts of burden of all ages and sizes put on a show at Lake Mabprachan as Pattaya’s version of the annual buffalo races took place on August 18, with little fanfare or advanced publicity. About 30 low-income renters and squatters heard how they might one day own their own homes from residents in Bangsaen and Trat who once faced the same difficulties.

Skål members learn all about sharks

Skål Pattaya & East Thailand held their monthly meeting at the Moon River Pub at the Thai Garden Resort on Thursday the 15th of August. The club’s president, Tony Malhotra, opened the proceedings by welcoming the guests and making the traditional Skål toast.

Somdej Phra Maha Muneewong (far left), Abbot of Wat Rajabopit Sathitmahasimaram Rajaworavihara, presided over the Aircraft Anointing Ceremony for Thai Airways International Public Company Limited’s two aircraft, Airbus A330-300 royally bestowed the name “Sakon Nakhon” and Airbus A340-600 royally bestowed the name “Mae Hong Son”.
